Alex Nunns composed and presented a ten minute summary talk on the many ways biodiversity is important to us and our society. It covered lesser know benefits to humankind, longterm concerns, and the ways in which biodiversity is easy to overlook despite being incredibly fundamental to most aspects of our well-being. It also touched on how biodiversity is in worse condition than it might appear from raw species counts, plus some areas to look for effective solutions. It was given during the "Thinking Outside the EA Cause Area Box" session at EAGxCambridge. The presentation was recorded and will be shared here when it is available. There are tons of points and information which unfortunately didn't make it into the short timeframe, which we hope will form the basis for further presentations on EA in Biodiversity and EcoResilience!
Here are the presentation slides if you want to revisit it.
